TRAZO OSCURO

The Beginning

It was the year 2010. While browsing the internet, I came across a website called Tumblr. From what I could see, it was a community based on sharing images.

I opened an account, since the idea struck me as appealing and novel. I started browsing, and it captivated me immediately. It was a torrent of images, each more different than the last, feeding my curiosity. Everything felt new. I could spend hours scrolling through it. I began following people and sharing the images I liked most with other users.

Until one day, a user—Japanese or Chinese—whom I followed shared the image above. I was instantly taken by the illustration.

It was a mix of surrealism and gore that, in my opinion, turned it into a masterpiece. I thought, “How could something so outlandish pass through a person’s imagination?” What kind of art was this piece?

And I told myself that this was what I wanted to see every day. I looked more deeply into the user and found more interesting drawings.

Fortunately, each illustration was accompanied by the artist’s name. And that was how my research began—my passion for this art.

What a disappointment it was when I started searching for more illustrations by the artist we’re talking about today… and found nothing. I had to set it aside and move on to other artists.

Little by little, I began linking one artist to another, and the magic happened. I was happy as a pig in mud. I also realized that what attracted me most was the gore element of the illustration I saw that day.

So I started refining my aim and finding exactly what I was looking for. A whole new world opened up before me.

Over time, I began uploading the images I liked and found on the internet, instead of simply sharing other users’ images. And that’s how it’s been up to this day. My God—so much time has passed.

For all this, I have to thank Bekim Berisha, for introducing me to this magnificent universe.
